Hi, I’m Rachel!
I’m a copywriter, German-to-English-translator and SEO expert.
Originally from Nottingham, I studied English and German at the University of Leeds, with a year abroad in Stuttgart.
After university I did an internship at a translation agency in Hamburg, where I got real-world experience in translation. After that, I spent four years working as a freelance translator, and sat my postgraduate Diploma in Translation to make it official!
I also started working part-time at an eCommerce company, where I got my first introduction to copywriting and digital marketing.
I loved the creative side of copywriting, so I ended up taking a full-time job as a Copywriter at an SEO agency. I trained up in the technical side of SEO too and was promoted to Head of Content.
After moving to Birmingham and working for a while as a Content Manager at a finance company, I decided I wanted to go back to freelancing and work with clients I was passionate about.
That’s when I set up The Ethical Copywriter – to support impact-led brands and help them communicate their purpose with transparency.
